Leg 14: Bella Bella to Campbell River

The scenic backdrop of Bella Bella in the middle of the B.C. coast began the penultimate leg of the Canada C3 expedition. We sailed by numerous fishing towns and ancient canneries, witnessing the changing economy of the region firsthand. We then visited Koeye camp, where the indigenous youth connect with their elders, culture and lands. A visit to the Hakai Institute Research station showcased remote coastal science and we tried out some experiments ourselves. We made our way to Vancouver Island, starting from the northern communities of Port Hardy and lastly making time for God’s Pocket Marine Park, some of the most beautiful underwater sceneries in Canada.
