Dr. Caroline Fox is a conservation scientist, educator and advocate for nature. Her research generally focuses on the ecology of marine predators in coastal ecosystems, species at risk and assessments of human impacts. Marine birds, mammals and the habitats they are reliant upon are of particular interest. Currently a Killam Postdoctoral Fellow in the department of oceanography at Dalhousie University, Caroline undertakes collaborative research as part of the interdisciplinary Whales, Habitat and Listening Experiment (WHaLE) project. Part of her research involves the development of modelling approaches to characterize whale-habitat associations and to predict the spatial occurrence of baleen whales in Canada’s coastal waters.
