Helena Hlas is 25 years young, born to Czech parents who found freedom from the communist regime flooding Europe in the cold forks of Winnipeg. Later, she spent several years in Calgary pursuing alpine ski racing dreams. Helena is now stationed in London, Ont., once again chasing after her goals, this time hoping to row for Canada in Tokyo 2020! She loves the water in all forms, and is especially passionate about the asset-building value of sport. While training full-time with Row to Podium, she is simultaneously pursuing a master’s of kinesiology at Western University with an emphasis on youth engagement in sport.
