Linda Bussey was raised in Montréal and studied addictions with a focus on prevention. She moved to Iqaluit in 1992 before moving to Yellowknife in 1996. She has been active in the community serving in a volunteer or governance capacity with school boards, a seniors’ care facility, as well as various cultural, arts and sports events and organizations. Linda was elected to City Council in 2012 and is now in her second term. She leads the city’s homelessness initiative and has engaged many partner organizations to establish a 10 year plan to alleviate homelessness in the city. Linda is married, the mother of three young adults and a grandmother.
