Mireille Sylvester is a Franco-Ontarian digital communications professional. Since graduating from Carleton University’s journalism program in 2014, she has worked for national organizations such as the Senate of Canada and Colleges and Institutes Canada. Mireille has also contributed copy to Ottawa Life magazine, Her Campus, CanCulture and Thought Catalog, and has done broadcasting work for Rogers TV’s Our Ottawa, iPolitics and the Canadian Federation of Students.
Mireille is particularly interested in Canada’s arts and culture scene. She enjoys pestering her friends with obscure film trivia, and her favourite Canadian films are One Week, La grande séduction, Goin’ Down the Road and Bon Cop, Bad Cop. She cannot wait to see the art that will be produced during the Canada C3 expedition.
When she’s not consuming digital media, Mireille enjoys playing the guitar, piano and ukulele, walking dogs at her local humane society, spending time with her family, continuing her search for the best pho in Ottawa and making monthly jaunts to Montreal and Toronto to visit friends.
Mireille’s love of Canada stems from an admiration for the diversity of landscapes, of people and of cultures that you can find from coast to coast to coast. Though she has seen many parts of the world, her favourite place to visit remains Tofino, B.C.
