Paul Smith

Paul Smith is a research scientist based at Environment and Climate Change Canada’s National Wildlife Research Centre, in Ottawa, Ont. He is also an adjunct professor at Trent and Carleton Universities. He specializes in the study of Arctic birds and their habitats and has worked across the Canadian Arctic for the last 18 years. Paul’s research is focused on understanding how the Arctic is changing and what this means for the ecology and conservation of birds, especially those inhabiting coastal environments. He lives with his wife and two children in Lanark county, west of Ottawa.
