Roy MacGregor is a journalist with the Globe and Mail. He is the author of more than 50 books on such subjects as Tom Thomson, the canoe, the rivers of Canada, the James Bay Crees and hockey. His Screech Owls hockey-mystery series has sold around the world. He is an officer in the Order of Canada and he and Ellen have four children and five grandchildren.
