Shaorong Li was born in China, and has studied in China, Israel and Canada. She immigrated to Canada in 1998, and moved to Nanaimo, B.C to pursue her career in science. She currently works at the Pacific Biological Station, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, where she uses genetics/genomics tools to study Salmon stock assessment, migration, fitness and health. After work, she is actively involved in promoting Chinese culture by performing dance and teaching language. A proud mother of two wonderful children, Shaorong enjoys hiking, dancing and travelling. She is excited to be on the final leg of the Canada C3 journey!
