Sira’s bachelor’s degree from McGill University in biological sciences led to a journalism certificate at Université de Montréal and many years working in the media as a journalist, photographer and videographer for QMI Agency and La Presse in Montreal. She’s also had the chance to take her camera to the Arctic and the Antarctic working with the Students on Ice Foundation for the past five years.

Sira is a 2015 Gemini nominee for a short documentary made for La Presse ‘’Kumaris, déesses vivantes du Népal’’. She is currently working on a documentary film project ‘’Breaking Ice: The Arctic Uncovered’’ about the iconic Canadian research icebreaker CCGS Amundsen.

When not on an expedition in the Arctic, Sira can be found at her country home in Gatineau Quebec, probably looking for medicinal plants, her new hobby!
