When people with mental illness are homeless, everybody pays. This NFB web and interactive documentary highlights the real cost of homelessness based on a 2008 study by the Mental Health Commission of Canada. Here at Home has video and interactive components, including real data, that allow you to understand more about its findings and the complexities and costs of offering homes to the homeless in five different Canadian cities. How can we take meaningful and lasting action to help people who are homeless? This resource is a launching pad for students to see real results and be inspired to engage in social justice and humanitarian change on a local level.
