It’s been a big year for Tuktoyaktuk, NWT. The community is the site of kilometre zero of the the Great Trail, the longest recreational trail in Canada, which was recently completed. In november 2017, the Tuktoyaktuk to Inuvik highway will officially open, connecting the community with the rest of Canada, year-round.
