Mélanie-Rose Frappier is 20 years old and comes from Sudbury, Ontario. She is currently a student at Laurentian University doing a double major in health promotion and Indigenous studies. She hopes to become a doctor in the near future. Her passions include Indigenous culture, health and community service. She is the founder of It’s Cool to be Healthy (C’est Cool d’être en Santé), an Indigenous education activist and a public speaker. Mélanie-Rose is also the award recipient of the Top 20 under 20 award of Canada, the Lieutenant Governor’s Youth Heritage award and Woman of Distinction award among several others.
