A socio-cultural entrepreneur, Susan Knight champions the value of people singing together. A choral conductor/music educator, she advocates singing as an engine for human health/enrichment and the creation/sustenance of empathic community. Memorial University Chancellor and Visiting Researcher, (iMerc, UCL, London), her research explores adult singing recovery/discovery. Founder/Chair of Growing the Voices: Festival 500 (2013), she leads a movement promoting/developing access to diverse opportunities for singing across the lifespan. Consultant, author, producer, speaker and arts advocate, Susan (Shallaway Founder, 1992) has produced a canon of choral works exploring place, empathic community, ecology and change, which works are published, recorded and/or broadcast.
