The Pingo National Landmark protects a unique arctic landform. A pingo is an ice-cored hill typically conical in shape. It can only grow in permafrost. The Pingo National Landmark features eight of the 1350 pingos found in the region including Ibyuk Pingo, Canada’s highest.
