In the morning, we stopped at the community of Sointula. This small village has a population of 550, and was founded by Finnish settlers hoping to create a utopian society in the early 20th century. We learned about this history at the Sointula Museum and enjoyed meeting some of the Sointulians who today call Malcolm Island home. Our Education Team also had a visit to the local school, which has under 50 students, but lots of spirit. Thank you for having us, Sointula!
