We woke up in Tod Inlet, a small fiord in in Gowlland Tod Provincial Park. This area is the ancestral home of the WSÁNEć (Saanich) people, and in the early 20th century, a railway, a clay mill, a factory and a dock for steamships were constructed for the Vancouver Portland Cement Company. When we arrived at dawn, we were greeted by a few special visitors.
