This lesson is an introduction to the water cycle for Grade 2 students. The lesson begins with a simple activity where students draw pictures to show their existing ideas about where they think rain comes from. From here, students will take part in a movement session where they will be introduced to basic functions (precipitation, condensation, and evaporation) of the water cycle through a story and movement. The teacher will guide the student’s learning about the water cycle during the movement session by asking questions and encouraging active participation in the story. Students will then share what they have learned with a partner before drawing another picture of the water cycle.
